Sequencing File Conversion for Mac Users
The ABI 3730xl sequencer is a PC based
instrument (ABI sequencers are moving
away from the Mac format. All of the last three generations are PC based).
Attached is a small program, using which the Mac users can convert the
electropherograms to the Mac format easily. To do so, please:
Mac user only (PC users please ignore):
- Download and save the "ConvProg.sit"
to your hard disk by clicking here (Mac
users only. PC users please ignore)
- Expand the file to a folder "ConvProg
Folder" using StuffIt Expander (Free download:
http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/expander_win_login.html
)
- Convert the future PC electropherogram
files from Windows format to Mac format using the conversion program
"Sample File Win to Mac" in the ConvProg Folder:
- Double click to launch the conversion
program "Sample File Win to Mac".
- Select the folder
(NOT THE INDIVIDUAL
FILES INSIDE THE FOLDER) generated from the above step 3), which
contains the expanded sequencing results to be converted.
- Click "Choose". The files will
be converted in the folder automatically.
